Tilting his head to catch her gaze one more, quirking on eyebrow at her question and giving a slight scoff.

There it was. The gentle sense of smugness plastered across his lips once more, as if it would never dissipate. For the first time Mark’s thoughts were calm like an ocean on dawn rather than the crashing waves of thoughts on high tide, like they had been the whole day.
