As she sat in the car, she just looked out the windshield as her uncle pulled out and stated the drive towards the fatal spot. This would be the first time she had ever been to that very spot where the semi crashed into her fathers car.
“I’m not strong, uncle Mark. I mean, it might look that way. But I’m not. I just–I don’t know any other way to live.”
Her words were cold, but truthful. Her whole life she had to live with the fact she never knew her father. The fact her dad died saving others lives. And because of that, because she was able to push her grief down and to the side, people saw the ten year old as strong. When really, she was falling apart.
Head tilting to the side, running his fingers along the grey scruff that lay along his jaw line. Looking at her with soft t eyes.
“You are Ellis, whether you want to believe it or not. You are like your mother and your aunt~ and YOU are j u s t like your father. It ain’t called living kid– it’s called surviving and you’re doing just that. And It’s okay to fall apart every once and a while you just got to know when to pick yourself back up and fight all over again. You’ve got a lot of people that will help you. So, stop being such a Grey and let loose. ”
Looking up at her uncle, tears fogging over her eyes, Ellis knew she needed to. She needed to feel what she had been pushing away and hiding. She needs to feel something. And if that meant going to the very place her father was stuck by the truck. Then that is what she needed.
“Let’s just get this over with.” She spoke as she wiped away her eyes, grabbing her jacket from the back of the chair.
He could see the pain growing in her eyes, making his gut twist. There was nothing he could say or do that could help her. All he could do was be there for her. Be the (god)father she never got to meet.
“You’re the strongest kid I know, Ellis Grey. ” She really was Derek & Meredith’s kid. Once she had grabbed her jacket he pressed his hand to her shoulder and began to walk to the car.
“Thank you uncle Mark. I just, I don’t know if I can do this. I don’t know if I can visit his crash site. I know I need to. But, I am just so scared.”
❝Well, I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere kid. If you want to do this
today or in 10 years, I’ll still be right beside you, holding your hand
through it all. You just tell me when your ready little Der.❞
“Hi!” Ellie grinned as she felt Mark pick her up and set her in the gallery chairs so her little eyes could watch over the surgery. “I got bored upstairs and so I wanted to watch the big surgeons play.”
❝Well, why don’t we go grab something to eat down at the cafe—My treat.❞
A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. The youngest Shepherd held out her arms, taking a step toward the older man to offer a hug. Okay, more like demand a hug.
“Mark! What’s up? It’s been, like, a year since I saw you last.”
❝Right. Amelia.❞ A smug smirk crossing over his face.
Leaning in Mark gladly accepted the hug, pulling her close with a small grin now.
Arching his brow, not recognizing the new face in the OR. “Mark Sloan. Plastics. Single.” Introducing himself with a smug smirk that was hidden behind his surgical mask.

I'm always open for plotting so feel free to jump into my ask or tag me in a starter if I follow you on my Derek. I have skype for anyone that wants to talk or plot. Oh yeah and gave me all the Maddison and Slexie. I'm also probably the biggest crackshipper.
